# AI Hiring Compliance Radar - Issue 001

Date: 2026-05-13

## Executive summary

AI-assisted hiring and workforce tools are moving from "nice to review" to "must inventory." The practical buyer problem is not abstract AI governance. It is evidence: which tools influence hiring or promotion, what notices exist, what vendor documentation exists, and whether the team can show a reasonable assessment process when a rule applies.

## Tracked deadlines

- NYC AEDT: active enforcement.
- Colorado AI Act: delayed to June 30, 2026.
- EU AI Act: most high-risk system obligations and transparency rules apply August 2, 2026.

## Recommended monthly action

Run an AI hiring inventory refresh:

1. Ask recruiting and HR operations which tools now rank, score, filter, summarize, recommend, or reject people.
2. Add each tool to the inventory.
3. Send the vendor questionnaire for any new or changed vendor.
4. Update candidate or worker notice language where a tool is used in a covered workflow.
5. Record whether an assessment, bias audit, or vendor evidence exists.

## Template update

The first template pack includes:

- AI tool inventory CSV.
- Vendor questionnaire.
- Impact assessment starter.
- Candidate notice starter.
